You can take a walk in the cool shade along two brooks or along trails throughout the property or extend your walk over the southern border onto the Molly's Falls Pond State Park. The Park has boat access and swimming sites and you can hear the loons that nest on the pond. Flowers and shrubs in the multiple perennial gardens bloom throughout the summer. There is ample vegetable garden space along with apple trees, grape vines, asparagus, blueberry & raspberry bushes. The forest land and fields have been actively managed and support a variety of plant and animal communities. You can watch the wildlife from the large windows. Deer, bear, turkeys, many songbirds and the occasional moose are among the animals you'll see. You can see the sunrise over long views of area mountains as well as Mt Moosilauke in New Hampshire. An attached space with access to the outdoors or downstairs of the house can be used as a root cellar and to store firewood. In the winter there's sledding on the sloping field or back country skiing through the woods and state park.
